Cross-country skiing
Around Kitzbühel, in Brixental and the Wilder Kaiser there are over 500 km of the best prepared and snow-assured runs. Thanks to the wide valleys in the Kitzbühel Alps region cross-country skiing with a magnificent panoramic view, mostly without any difficult gradients, is possible.
There is a special importance attached to the cross-country skiing infrastructure in the Kitzbühel Alps. As well as the best prepared skating and classic slopes, there are also scores of access points, with changing cubicles, lockable boxes, shower facilities and catering.
Along the slope network there are places to stop off for a bite to eat, and rest areas, at regular intervals. In spite of this extensive range on offer, all the slopes in the region can be used free of charge, as can most of the ski buses.
A little tip for romantics - the 3.5 km night-time slope in Kitzbühel.
And for the gifted – the 10 km high altitude cross-country course in Kaiserbachtal (740 up to 1100 m).
